The turret should lock tightly when the lever is tightened. The bearings on the right side of the carriage are mounted on eccentric bosses, and as such can be adjusted to remove all play and flex in this area. This unit has 4 bearings that ride on grooves in the arm. Step one with one of these saws is to get rid of any play between the saw carriage and the arm. One was for ripping, and one for crosscutting and sheet goods. I bought two blades, both thin kerf freud 9" blades. The saw is a 9" saw, meaning the blades are 9". This is NOT one of the machines that gave Radial Arm Saws a bad name. Cast iron throughout and all joints are adjustable and alignable so you can enjoy a nicely accurate machine. Further, it allows a larger range of motion and combination of cutting options. The design means that the blade is closer to the center of the table on deeper angle cuts. The turret style arm is in my mind a superior design to the simpler and cheaper rear swivelling style. With a bit of elbow grease to fine tune it, it made a lot of nice furniture before I got a Unisaw.

I bought mine without a table for $60 back in the early nineties. If I make some of these, likely 100 at a time, I would have to charge about $ 45.00 to recoup my investment.I cut my woodworking teeth on a Rockwell/ delta Super 900 radial arm saw. I suspect that they are having them made.ĭoes anyone know where one might find the sector gear now? It seems that this part is going to be hard to find. Ashman wants me to make some ( I have a manufacturing company) and Ford Machinery says that they will have some soon at $ 90.00 each because they are hard to find. Ashman and Ford Machinery are both out of stock. The problem is that no one seems to carry the sector gear at the moment. The solution is to replace both the bushing/bearing and the sector gear. The slop must be removed or the next sector gear will end up with the same problem. This causes the tips of the teeth to shear off. The bushing or bearing that holds the worm gear shaft is worn allowing the sector gear teeth to partially disengage from the worm gear. I have a Rockwell Beaver Model 34050 table saw with a stripped sector gear. Re: Manuals for Old Beaver Rockwell Table saw Model 620
